There’s (definitely) Something You’re Missing!

It’s unavoidable!

In this time of perceived political unrest because of access to an overabundance of information, the tendency to continue to stare into the light will naturally evoke anger.

It is entirely possible that almost nothing about the way society functions has changed, albeit it most certainly changing form, and that if you had access to the same breadth and depth of information in 1960, that you’d have been just as angry about those events.

It’s just too much. There are many things you do not need to know, cannot control, but which are controlling you due to your inability to meaningfully direct your attention.

Philosophical materialism is at an all-time high in the collective consciousness, and that leaves the average person with a lack of a genuine identity, grounding value system, and therefore an accurate filter for the information they’re voluntarily exposing themselves to. Mere reaction ensues, with a distinctly volatile style.

Of anger, any ancient mystic worth listening to has said that it blinds. The moment you react in this way is the moment you reveal your depth of misunderstanding.

Accurate perception does not bring anger. It brings peace. Peace comes from acceptance of what is true, regardless of technical understanding of the details of how or why things are the way they are.

One who seeks depth of understanding should seek not to simply react, complain, condemn, or destroy. He should seek simply to understand first, and then to correct, build, and improve. Only a calm attitude is capable of this.

Nothing and no one can “cause” you to feel angry. Externals can only catalyze you to reveal that it lives within you. Find where that is, and why if necessary, and exorcise it like a demon that possesses you into wrong, destructive thinking.

Continue to blame others, inanimate objects and events that have no consciousness of their own, and you will amplify and sediment your own possession.

Look forward, look outward, down at your feet and at the ground on which they stand. Where are you, and do you have the capability to move by your own will, or do you feel stuck “because of” circumstances?

You do have a choice.

If you choose anger, you will not be happy or fulfilled. Anger contradicts these things and all of their potential.

Choose understanding, clarity of full perspective (if you’re gifted in this way at all), and only then shall you have a foundation on which to build incrementally toward happiness, fulfillment, and anything of value you feel you deserve.

Choose not to miss the target of truth, and you’re choosing not to miss out on the full richness of life.

Otherwise, just accept everything as it is and that you don’t understand why, and that you don’t need to when understanding will not actually improve your or anyone else’s life.

Simply, choose life in all of its flourishing. There will always be plenty that you’re missing. But that has nothing to do with you.
